Laparoscopic Surgery Consumable Disposable Veress Needle
A Veress needle or Veres needle is a spring-loaded needle used to create pneumoperitoneum for laparoscopic surgery. Of the three general approaches to laparoscopic access, the Veress needle technique is the oldest and most traditional.
Characteristics:
The outer cannula consists of a beveled sharp needle point for cutting through tissues.
The penetratio indicator is highly visible and guarantees safe insertion of the needle.
A spring-loaded, inner stylet has a blunt tip to reduce inadvertent tissue damage.
The spring-loaded inner stylet provides loud audible"click", when the tip of the needle penetrates through tissue and enters a space such as the peritoneal cavity.
High flow stopcock and double windows on the inner stylet accelerate insufflation.
